If the teams want the players to behave like employees, they should make them employees.
What makes this particularly fascinating is the breakdown of signing percentages by round. Rounds five and seven have the highest percentage at 85, with 35 of 41 players signed in each round. This suggests that later rounds are becoming more valuable, and teams are recognizing the potential in players who may not have been highly touted coming out of college.
